1. Eligibility & Documents
To rent a bike or scooty from Shree Bike Rental, the rider must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving licence for the relevant vehicle class. The following are required at the time of pickup:
- Original valid driving licence (two-wheeler / MCWG for bikes above 150cc)
- One valid original government photo ID — Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Voter ID
- A local address or hotel booking confirmation, if travelling from outside Uttarakhand
We retain a photocopy or scan of your documents for the duration of the rental period as a standard verification measure. Learner's licences are not accepted.
2. Booking & Payment
Bookings can be made online through our website, over WhatsApp, by phone, or in person at our Nainital Road office in Haldwani. A booking is confirmed only once the advance payment or full rental amount has been received and acknowledged by our team.
Rates displayed on the website are per day unless stated otherwise, and are subject to change during peak season (April–June and October–November). GST and applicable taxes, where relevant, are included in the quoted price unless otherwise specified.
3. Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit is collected at the time of handover, either in cash or via UPI/card. The deposit amount depends on the vehicle category and is confirmed at the time of booking. The deposit is refunded in full at the end of the rental, provided the vehicle is returned on time, undamaged, and with the agreed fuel level.
Note: Deductions from the security deposit for damage, missing accessories, or late return are final and will be explained to the rider with photographic evidence at the time of vehicle inspection.
4. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are handed over with a specific fuel level, noted on the booking form. The rider is responsible for fuel consumed during the rental period. Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup; a refuelling charge plus a small service fee will otherwise be deducted from the deposit.
5. Vehicle Use & Restrictions
- The rented vehicle may only be ridden by the person named on the booking; sub-renting or lending to a third party is not permitted.
- Vehicles must not be taken outside Uttarakhand without prior written permission from Shree Bike Rental.
- As per High Court of Uttarakhand rules, commercial two-wheelers are not permitted on Nainital Mall Road — riders are responsible for planning routes accordingly and for any fine incurred for violating this rule.
- Off-roading, racing, stunts, or use of the vehicle for any illegal purpose is strictly prohibited and will void the security deposit.
- A maximum of two riders per bike is allowed, and helmets (provided) must be worn by both riders at all times.
6. Damage, Loss & Liability
The rider is responsible for the vehicle from the time of handover until it is returned and inspected by our staff. Any damage to the vehicle, tyres, mirrors, or accessories beyond normal wear and tear will be charged at actual repair cost, deducted first from the security deposit and, where the cost exceeds the deposit, billed separately to the rider.
In case of theft or total loss of the vehicle during the rental period, the rider is liable for the full on-road value of the vehicle, less any amount recoverable through insurance. Riders must report theft or accidents to the nearest police station and to Shree Bike Rental immediately.
7. Insurance & Breakdown
All vehicles carry valid third-party insurance as required by law. This insurance does not cover damage caused by rider negligence, riding without a valid licence, riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or use outside the agreed terms. In the event of a mechanical breakdown that is not caused by rider misuse, contact our 24x7 support line and we will arrange assistance or a replacement vehicle where possible.
8. Cancellation & Late Return
Bookings cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup are eligible for a full refund of the advance paid. Cancellations made within 24 hours of pickup, or no-shows, may be charged a cancellation fee. Vehicles returned later than the agreed drop-off time will be charged for an additional day, or an hourly late fee for delays under a few hours, at our standard rates.
9. Rider Conduct
Shree Bike Rental reserves the right to refuse a booking, or to recover a vehicle mid-rental, in cases of intoxication, reckless riding, or violation of these terms, without a refund of the amount already paid. Riders must comply with all applicable traffic laws; any fines or challans issued during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the rider.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes arising from a rental agreement with Shree Bike Rental will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Haldwani, Nainital, Uttarakhand.
